Gwyneth Paltrow blasted for ignorance

Gwyneth Paltrow has been accused by a leading scientist of “spouting loopy nonsense” after claiming shampoo causes cancer in babies.

The actress, 36, posted on her website ‘Goop’ that she was “seized with fear” at learning that many household items, including toys, carpets and cleaning products provided risk to young infants.

But Hugh Pennington, Emeritus Professor of bacteriology at Aberdeen University said: “It annoys me when celebrities use their position to spout nonsense.

“They have a perfect right to their views, even if they are loopy.

“But shampoo is perfectly safe – unless you drink it in large quantities.”

Sounds like Gwynnie has drunk one too many bottles of the soapy stuff.
