Obamas unveil new dog Bo
Bo, the black-and-white Portuguese water dog emerged from the White House yesterday to make his first public debut as the newest addition to the Obama household.
After showing off their new pet to the cameras, the family took a long walk around the White House grounds, with the tail-wagging pooch in tow.
The arrival of the pooch ends a long saga dating back to the 2008 campaign trail when Obama promised a dog to his daughters Malia 10, and Sasha seven, to make up for his long absences while running for president.
When the President was asked where the six-month-old canine would sleep, he joked: “Not in my bed.”
It has been reported that the girls named the pet Bo in part because their cousins have a cat of the same name, and perhaps after Michelle Obama’s late father’s nickname Diddley, after the late rock ‘n’ roll legend Bo Diddley.
The dog is a gift to the Obama’s from veteran Senator Edward Kennedy, who owns several Portuguese water dogs.
He should have got a Pitbull instead, that way the American voters would always remember why they didn’t vote red.
Michael Jackson’s auction called off
A planned auction of nearly 2,000 items belonging to Michael Jackson has been cancelled.
The singer’s production company and Julien’s Auction House have reached a settlement that allows the eccentric star to keep all items.
Terms of the agreement are confidential, but the attorney for the auction house tells us “everyone is happy.”
Amongst the memorabilia due to go on sale next week included the actual gates of the Neverland Ranch and fiberglass servant statues.
Damn, I really wanted that rhinestone-covered glove.
Mel Gibson’s wife files for divorce
Mel Gibson’s wife of 28 years, Robyn Moore, has filed for divorce.
Moore, 53, citing irreconcilable differences, is seeking joint physical and legal custody over their minor child, Thomas, 9, according to court papers.
She is also seeking spousal support and attorney’s fees and is asking the court to deny her husband any spousal support.
The divorce could shape-up to be one of the most expensive in the history of Hollywood, as it is thought the couple who wed in 1980, did not sign a pre-nup, meaning that the actor’s wife could be entitled to half his estimated £1billion fortune.
A statement released by the pair on Monday, said: “Throughout our marriage and separation we have always strived to maintain the privacy and integrity of our family and will continue to do so.”
Theirs must have been one of the longest running marriages in showbiz, what a shame it’s come to an end. After nearly 30 years of putting up with Gibson’s erratic behavior, the lady deserves half.
Chris Brown moves on from Rihanna
If recent rumours are to be true then Chris Brown is already dating another woman.
But the question is who?
According to New York Daily News, Brown has reunited with ex-girlfriend Erica Jackson, who is from his hometown in Virginia.
A source close to the singer said: “They dated back in the day and reconnected a few weeks ago when Chris was in town. They’ve been spending a lot of time together, but things only really heated up over the last two weeks.”
“She’s more of a plain Jane — cute though, at the very least, she’s helping to ease Chris’ pain over Rihanna. He was mad in love with that girl.”
The New York Daily News added that the R&B star and his new gal-pal were spotted leaving a Los Angeles tattoo parlour on Saturday, however contradicting reports say the female accompanying Brown was in-fact Girlicious member Natalie Mejia.
Natalie, who got her big break in reality show Pussycat Dolls Presents: Girlicious, has confirmed she is the woman in the picture (above) but declined to comment on the nature of her and Brown’s relationship.
She said: “Things are going well between us but I really do not want to comment much more than that right now.
“He has treated me like a gentleman at all times actually and there are no complaints.”
The 19-year-old ‘Kiss Kiss’ star has denied he is romantically involved with both women.
It sounds like he moved on quickly. If these sources have any truth to them, then Brown has started and ended two relationships, and all before i’ve had my lunch.
Amy Winehouse’s Blake gets junkie pregnant
Amy Winehouse’s estranged husband – Blake Fielder-Civil, has allegedly gotten another woman pregnant while attending rehab.
Gilleen Morris told the News of the World that she and Blake “had a secret fling” at the Phoenix Futures Rehab Centre in Sheffield.
The mother-of-two, who was undergoing treatment for heroin addiction, said he was shocked when he found out but he “has vowed to stand by me and raise the child” and she is now planning it.
She said: “Initially I was planning to have an abortion but Blake’s vow has completely thrown me.
The 31-year-old revealed how Blake tried to seduce her within hours of checking into the centre and after a couple of days the pair were regularly meeting for sex adding “we didn’t use condoms and I wasn’t using contraception.”
Regarding the Black To Black star, she said: “If Amy wants to be a stepmum I wouldn’t mind, as long as she steered clear of drugs and self-harming.”
These sordid revelations will damage Blake’s efforts to bank half of Amy’s £10million fortune on the grounds of the singers infidelity.
Blake, who was jailed last July for assault and perverting the course of justice – launched divorce proceedings after pictures emerged of Amy kissing actor Josh Bowman on holiday in St Lucia.

Cassie shaves half her head!
Cassie has pulled a Britney (sort-of) by shaving off half her head.
The ‘Me & U’ singer revealed her drastic new hairdo via her page on social networking site Twitter.
“Yeah I did it. They ask why?? LOL B/C I WOKE UP AND FELT LIKE IT!!! YEEEAHHH!!! LOL.” The 22-year-old twittered.

A source tells New York Daily News, “Ed has been gaining a lot of weight — not just around the waist, but through the whole body. First, the costume department had to buy him new, bigger pants. Then, his shirts and jackets got way too snug.
“The costumers even requested that producers talk to Ed — they don’t want Chuck to be fat!”
How refreshing to hear that women aren’t alone in receiving pressure to stay slim.

Spencer and Heidi are getting married (again)
Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are set to tie the knot on Saturday, April 25, in California.

Some may remember the reality-couple staged a fake wedding in Mexico for cameras last November.
