Michael Jackson finally laid to rest

Taking centre stage for the last time, Michael Jackson was finally laid to rest 10-weeks after his death.

In a private service at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in California, family and friends said their final farewells to the King of Pop, who was interred in the cemetery’s Great Mausoleum, a voluminous building that also houses the remains of Clark Gable and Carole Lombard.

Amongst Jackson’s family, attendees at the funeral included Elizabeth Taylor, Macaulay Culkin, Lisa Marie Presley, Corey Feldman and Chris Tucker.

The ‘Thriller’ star, who was 50, died on the 25 June of a drug overdose. The Los Angeles County have since ruled his death as homicide.

Michael Jackson has died

Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson has died after suffering a cardiac arrest.

The King of Pop was rushed to the UCLA Medical Centre, where he was pronounced dead at 2.25 pm local time, after having been found unconscious in his rented Los Angeles home.

Jackson, 50, was described as “unresponsive” when paramedics arrived at his home, and was rushed to the hospital by ambulance “in full cardiac arrest”.

Hundreds of fans massed outside the hospital after news of the stars arrival there emerged. Many burst into tears after the pop sensations brother, Jermaine Jackson, confirmed the worst.

“My brother, the legendary King of Pop, Michael Jackson, died on Thursday 25, 2009.

“Our family requested that the media please respect our privacy during this tough time. And we all will be with you Michael, always. Love you.”

A post-mortem examination and toxicology tests will be carried out on Jackson’s body by the Los Angeles coroner. A spokesman for the coroner’s investigation unit said that there was no indication of foul play or drug use “at this point”.

The singer was to embark on his final farewell tour next month at the 02 Arena in London.

He leaves behind three children.

This is unbelievably sad. Most us grew up with the eccentric yet genius star. He made an undeniable mark on the world with his true star power, talent and prowess. It is truly the end of an era. Condolences go out to his family and children.

RIP – Gone but never forgotten.

Britain’s Got Talent Shaheen Jafargholi is a thriller

Speaking of Britain’s Got Talent, another star in the making has come out of the woodwork, in the shape of 12-year-old Shaheen Jafargholi.

The Welsh schoolboy’s Susan Boyle’s current biggest rival on the television show, which will see the winner performing their act in front of the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance and receive a £100,000 prize.

Shaheen wowed Saturday night viewers with Who’s Lovin’ You by the Jackson Five, after switching over from a so-so rendition of Amy Winehouse’s ‘Valerie’.

The show’s fans have been flooding internet forums with complaints after Jafargholi‘s impressive CV was leaked online, revealing Shaheen has appeared on Casualty, Torchwood and attended the prestigious Mark Jermin Stage School. He also played a young Michael Jackson in stage musical Thriller Live!

Some people love complaining about anything and everything. Had anyone even heard of this boy before the show? Exactly. So why are people complaining that he’s not an amateur?

He isn’t already famous so I don’t see the problem. As far as I’m concerned he would be a deserved winner, with a long and bright future ahead of him, dare I say, he’s possibly the next Jacko (minus the wacko part).

Michael Jackson’s auction called off

A planned auction of nearly 2,000 items belonging to Michael Jackson has been cancelled.

The singer’s production company and Julien’s Auction House have reached a settlement that allows the eccentric star to keep all items.

Terms of the agreement are confidential, but the attorney for the auction house tells us “everyone is happy.”

Amongst the memorabilia due to go on sale next week included the actual gates of the Neverland Ranch and fiberglass servant statues.

Damn, I really wanted that rhinestone-covered glove.
