Obama calls Kanye West a ‘Jackass’
It seems like everyone has an opinion on Kanye West’s VMA blunder and the American president is no exception.
In an off-the-record exchange ahead of an interview with US TV network CNBC, Barack Obama is asked by a reporter whether his daughters Malia and Sasha were annoyed by the rappers antics at the MTV awards ceremony on Sunday night.
“I thought that was really inappropriate. It’s like…she’s getting an award…what are you butting in?”
When another hack asks why West did it, the president mutters: “He’s a jackass”.
His remark provokes laughter in the room, however, Mr Obama appears to realise he has overstepped the mark and appeals to reporters to “cut the president some slack…I’ve got a lot of other stuff on my plate.”
Although the message was never meant to be heard by the public, his words were tweeted by ABC network presenter Terry Moran, enabling more than a million of his followers to re-iterate the message.
Lesson for the president…there is no such thing as ‘off-the-record’.

I love the fact that he can still express his own opinion. It’s one of the many reasons why I love him as our President. Go Obama!
